Added a little more detail, slowly working my way toward what I see on the filming model.  Of course, some of my scratch building efforts won't be an exact match to the actual model kit piece I'm trying to replicate.  ALL of this I'm doing is very small.  I notice I stuck the rear half ring on backwards and switched that around.

Any interest in this folks?

Thank you!  The whole plan is just to add to an already nice kit.

Some of the detail pieces I had to scratch build in those last pictures, just to keep this updated with what I found out, was from the and Morser Karl kit.

The raised sections around that central engine are the cowling from two different scale racing car kits on the filming model and the engine is the old Revell F4 Phantom engine.  The cowls I made from those vac-formed pieces I made and the F4 engine is completely scratch built.

Continuing onward, I detailed that tank deck that I removed from the original kit.  It stands out much better now, as it should. I also added some details here and there as needed.

Just behind that tank deck on the filming model, there is a "frame" type dealy-o not included in the kit, so more scratch building had to occur.

It appears to be from a John Player Special race car kit:

Here's what I was able to do with that.  It didn't come out awful and looks just like it's suppose to, so I guess that'll work.  I also heavily modified those ladder type pieces at the front of the engine section.  With these, I used the kit pieces and just cleaned/detailed them up.

Looking better all the time to me?  Y'all think so?

Next, in this same area, there is a piece from the LEOPOLD Railway Gun.  This piece WAS included in the kit, but I thought it needed more detail since it is a very prominent piece.  Those ladder pieces I mentioned in the last post are also from the LEOPOLD kit.

Thank you!  I'm glad some folks are enjoying the progress.  I'm hoping it's looking better.  Personally, it's a great base to start from as it is a very nice kit as it comes straight from the box.  It provides an excellent base for some of what I'm doing to it.  I don't think I would have done this to one of the old Monogram kits, but I have seen similar things done to that kit as well and it does improve the finished model, in most cases.

I know even this Moebius is getting up in age and I have had mine since they were initially released.  The price of this kit has gone through the roof to try and pick one up now and I regret not getting more when I had the chance.

What are some of everyone's experiences with this kit?  Have any of y'all done any modifying to one of these?  I would love to see those and you are absolutely welcome to post anything in this thread.  I wouldn't consider it hijacking/rude AT ALL.  All are welcome.

Added a little more detail to try and finish up the engine section on this model as compared to the original filming model. 

This looks alot closer to the filming miniature to me.  I'll still be revisiting a few things in this area, but most of the major things seem fairly covered.

Temporarily attaching the engine section to the mid section gives us this.  As you can see, I have scratch built several pieces at the front of the engine section too which adds a little more detail there.

Having knocked out the majority of what I wanted to at the engine and mid section, I decided to back up to the head of this thing, once I was so pleased at how much better those other sections looked, I wanted to do a little more to the head section.

I started out with these:

Those particular pieces are from the TAMIYA Schwerer Panzerspahwagen 8-Rad.

On the model, they're installed inside out.  Also, I remove pieces from the original model using flat X-acto blades.  Fairly obvious, I know, but I have been asked how I do that.

After getting the old ones off, the new ones made and then mounted to the model, it came out alright!  It, again, looks much better to me.

Then, I added some detail along the sides of the head section, again, just to improve the simple lumps of plastic seen on the original kit.

Next up, I decided to keep the 8-Rad's going.  Just under those pieces I made for the tops a couple posts ago, the remainder of that 8-Rad is atached.  The pieces from the kit leave a little to be desired, so new ones are in order.

After I had something appropriate, I added a little detail and called these "better".

Next, I wanted to fill in these holes in the head.  Of course y'all know by now, I didn't go stock.
